Our Mission

Our Mission

August 20th, 2007

The coming together of two great United Ways to form the South-Southwest Suburban United Way creates an opportunity to change the way services are targeted and delivered for the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago. We are driving new levels of collaboration with forward thinking agencies, community leaders and our partners across the United Way system to maximize the provisioning of human services where they are needed most, in the south and southwest suburbs.

United Way takes a comprehensive assessment of the health and human service challenges – community by community – to identify the most critical human care needs. We discuss these findings with other community members – experts, government leaders, corporations, social service agencies and volunteers – to prioritize the most pressing issues for each community and then fund the best programs that produce the greatest impact.

We are the largest United Way in the Chicago suburbs, with over $3 Million to invest in local agencies serving the south and southwest suburbs.
